Expanded polystyrene blocks find many applications in the construction industry. EPS blocks are extremely popular during building constructions primarily because of its thermal properties. Indeed it is one of the most powerful thermal insulation materials ever known to the construction industry. Polystyrene is made of two chemical ingredients polyol and isocyanate which makes it effortlessly resistant to water and have superb thermal insulation. For its unparalleled thermal properties, expanded polystyrene blocks are commonly used in keeping houses cooler during the summer and warmer in winters.

Application of Expanded Polystyrene Blocks
The application of polystyrene is guided and controlled by local laws. It is very important to know all about those laws and regulations before using expanded polystyrene products in a house. However, generally speaking, the only rule you need to be worried about is that – a good foam insulation workers knows all other rules. That means, if you find a good insulation worker, you can rest easy that everything else ...
... about the insulation installation work will go according to plan. But if you learn a little about the application process, you will benefit from it and there are no downsides to it.

Installing Polystyrene Boards For Insulation
The process of installing polystyrene blocks involves different steps. It begins with the preparation of the adhesive paste and ends in fastening the boards with dowels. Buy any cheap adhesive made for construction purposes and follow directions on the box to mix it properly. Next, using a trowel applies the paste evenly over the expanded polystyrene blocks and let it stand. Be sure to keep the thickness of the adhesive to 2.5 centimetres.

Now begin installing the sheets on the concrete wall from ground up. Use full sheets and proceed along until you have covered the entire exposed concrete area. Since the adhesive paste has a tendency of drying up quick, you should prepare the paste as you begin attaching the sheets, rather than preparing all the paste at once and running the risk of wasting the paste.

Bolting down expanded polystyrene blocks
The last step in installing expanded polystyrene blocks is using dowels to hold the sheet to the wall firmly. After you have installed the insulation sheets and once the adhesive has dried up properly, use a drill to make holes into the wall piercing through the sheets. Pull the drill in and out of the hole a few times to clear the residue from the aperture. Then push the dowels into the hole and hammer it in gently until you have secured the sheets securely to the wall.

That brings us to the end of this installation guide. As you might have understood by now, the job needs some time and acumen, if you that are too much for you, you should hire professional help.
