Secunderabad - The City Of The Nizam Dynasty

Secunderabad, a well developed city in the state of Andhra Pradesh was established in 1806 AD. It is the twin city of Hyderabad with Hussain Sagar Lake separating the twin cities. The city is populated with people from different states of India belonging to different cultures and religions.
There are many heritage and historical monuments, gardens, lakes, parks, entertainment centers, museums and palaces to visit in Secunderabad.
Mecca Masjid is an ancient mosque constructed 400 years ago by Qutub Shahi Sultan. The unique part of the mosque is that the three rounded faces of the mosque are designed from single granite. Charminar with four elegant minarets was constructed by the king Muhammed Quli Qutb Shah to commemorate the loss of plague victims. Golconda fort is one of the outstanding and strongest forts of India placed on a hill. The Qutb Shahi Tombs with huge domes, subtle marble carvings, large minarets and various inner routes reflects the Deccan architecture.

Birla Mandir constructed completely with white marble on a hill top is a place where lord venkateswara is worshipped by Hindus. The Chilkur Balaji temple is a very old temple where Lord Balaji is worshipped.
Ancient palaces like the Chowmahalla Palace, Asman Garh palace, King Kothi palace and Falaknuma Palace are worth visiting in the city. Each of these palaces is built with different architectures. The Asman Garh Palace reflects the Gothic architecture and looks similar to European medieval palace. The Falaknuma palace reflecting the Italian architecture was built completely using the Italian marble. This palace is being renovated by Taj group in to heritage hotel.
Salar Jung museum, AP state archaeological museum, Birla science museum and the city museum are some of the museums in Secunderabad with huge collection of historical artifacts. There are also a number of gardens and parks in the city such as the KBR park, NTR gardens, Lumbini Park, Indira Park and public gardens.
Ramoji Film city, a theme park and a film studio is one of the most popular tourist spots in Asia. It is credited as the largest film studio in the world and is included in the Guinness Book of World Records. Besides these there are many resorts in the outskirts of the city.
