Stuck With Used Photocopiers? This Might Help You Get Rid Of It Or At Least Get A Better Deal
We all buy used photocopiers all the time. We who have to photocopy documents frequently at least do! Buying a used photocopier instead of the latest model in the market is a decision that is not taken without considering a few things first. A businessperson who holds and operates a team of professionals frequently in the need of a good photocopier would have to consider buying one because outsourcing the job to someone beyond the company would not be a wise decision. Small start-ups prefer to keep their expenses low by finding out the easiest and the most economical, and in the scurry, they often end up signing a poorly read contract with office equipment lessors of dubious reputations.
Often, it so happens that offices find themselves very dissatisfied midway between their contracts and want a way out of the contract and find someone entirely new. It is quite difficult for businesses to back out of their contracts with office equipment like used photocopiers suppliers unless they find a way to convince the supplier that they disapprove of something in the contract ...
... or they think that the terms in the contract are unfair in some manner. You can attack the contract with your lessor from three different angles.
Unfair terms: The contract, in its finer points, might intend everything to go in the favour of the lessor. It could be related to something insignificant or very vital to the operation of the photocopier, but when it comes to leases, you had better be sure what each clause mean before signing anything. If you think the lessor was unfair in laying out the terms and conditions, you can turn things around by enforcing the law of the land.
False Promises: Salesman is often carried away by their zeal to make a sale and they try to sweeten deals with false promises, which they later fail to keep. You should not be surprised to find a few changes in the salesman’s version and the final draft that you will be asked to sign on. Though you cannot walk out of the contract sighting the discrepancy in the two versions, you can definitely confront the lessor on grounds of false promises.
Unlawful Contract: Laws of each state has its own peculiarities when it comes to dealing with business deals. Some states are very lenient and will allow almost any business to chalk out any deal they see fit and profitable while others have very strict guidelines which must be followed, failing which the contract is deemed invalid. These laws, rules of guidelines or whatever you may wish to call them were made exclusively for the benefit of the customer. Get in touch with an expert who handles corporate contracts and find out what they read in between the lines. Check whether everything is in your favour, if not, you should have things modified to be more balanced.
