The purpose of the report is to describe the state of the Russian beef market, to present actual information about the volumes of production, exports, imports, consumption and the state of the market, the changes that took place in 2012, and also, to build a forecast for the development of the industry in the medium term until 2017.

A significant factor in the development of the beef market in Russia, is the reduced number of cattle in Russia. Thus, during the 2000 – 2011, the number of cattle decreased annually. The Russian beef market consists mainly of domestic production. The share of imports tends to decrease.
