Intelligent Features Have Been Incorporated By Hp In New Lto 6 Backup Tape Solution To Maximize Secu

There are many companies that enter an industry with their products, with the aim to make money and earn market share but there are very few that are actually bale to achieve this goal and Hewlett-Packard is one of the few lucky ones. Hewlett-Packard is a brand that loyal customers not only in United States but throughout the world. The reason for its phenomenal success and popularity is its ability to make innovative products that fulfill the current needs of their potential customers at a reasonable price. Some businesses believe that consumers need a product so they will pay just any unreasonable price for it. The case of HP provides sound evidence against this belief. It was charged a reasonable price when compared to its competitors and it is a result of this that today HP is one of the giants of Information technology industry. Of course majority credit of HP’s success goes to its Research and Development department. HP had teamed up with two other brands, Seagate and IBM to create the most effective form of backup technology and this was called Linear Tape open technology.
The sixth generation of HP LTO ultrium ...
... tape was introduced in the early December of 2012. The business community was anxiously awaiting the launch of the product because it was expected to provide extreme innovations in backup technology. The most significant feature of the tape is its storage capacity. HP LTO6 tape provides its users with an immense storage capacity of 6.25 Terabytes. The backup solution also allows businesses to compress data at a rate of 2.5:1. The processing speed of the tape is also very impressive since it can process at a rate of 160 Megabytes per second. Of course the basic features generate a lot of hype and buzz but the tape offers a lot more than this.
One unique feature of the tape is the partition feature. The earlier generation of the tape which was lto5 tape, offered businesses the chance to divide the tape in two equal parts and this HP LTO6 tape also incorporates this intelligent feature. Now businesses can divide one single tape cartridge in 2 parts. So, one single tape cartridge can be used to secure the data of 2 different departments for longer time duration. Of course it is up to the business how they may choose to utilize the partition feature. HP LTO6 tape also supports backwards compatibility, meaning, if you have an older generation of Linear Tape open technology installed you can use the new tape to read/write data from it. Other than this the tape also supports encryption which provides your business with high levels of security without having much to spend on it. The encryption feature allows the business personnel to encode their crucial data; this data can then only be decoded by those who have the authority. So in case there is a breach in the data, the business knows who the possible culprits can be or who could have been involved with the extortion.
