The facelifted Nissan Navara has been developed alongside the Pathfinder SUV and it is a tough vehicle with a large loading bay. It also boasts four seats and impressive off road ability so it can be used as a large family car or a workhorse. The Nissan Navara diesel engine is a 2.5 litre giving 190bhp and 230bhp 3.0 litre. It has strong engine range which makes all the models in the range easy to drive along with a high driving position. The front seats have plenty of leg room but the seats can't be adjusted that much resulting in an un-ideal driving position. On motorway speeds lots of wind and engine noise makes its way into the cabin which is exhausting on longer jounryes. The Tekna models come in leather trim which improves comfort levels significantly. Nissan's reputation is built on reliability and that plays a big part in opting for the Navara is expected to go through a hard life. It scored three stars in the Euro NCAP crash test rating when it was tested in 2008. The interior for the Double Cab version is vey spacious and well built.

The Acenta King Cab trim has small back opening doors which can prove tricky to use and are best suited for short journeys. The Acenta and Tekna trims easily beat the VW Amarok when it comes to practicality and multi-tasking. Tekna versions have leather upholstery, headlight washers, electric heated front seats and electric sunroof fitted as standard. You can get the Nissan Connect Premium package for an extra £1,650 and have updated stereo, sat-nav and a reversing camera. The resale value is also good for Acenta and Tekna models.

The Nissan Navara is fitted with stability control in order to keep it control if it goes sideways and there are front, side and full-length airbags to protect passengers from a crash. Deadlocks, locking wheel nuts and marked parts are also fitted as a standard security kit. The Navara has a distinguishing dash and the controls are well laid out. There is lots of seat adjustment to be made which means a comfortable journey. Navara's strongest points are the enormous load bay and precise handling. The Nissan Navara is strong, tough and engineered to last for a long time.
