No One Wants To Read A Mass Produced Article
It's not breaking news anymore, the writing and submitting articles is one of the best ways to get links back to your website. Now there are a slew of people churning out articles. They are literally written and then mass produced in a digital publishing house. This means that thousands of people all over the world are buying the same articles and re-submitting them all over the internet. Sure, some of these people decide to tweak a few words here and there, but this is only to prevent the articles being rejected from sites that refuse duplicated articles.
Now we're talking in specific about the good article sites, the ones that have real people reading over submitted content. They also have software that scans through the articles and relates it back to content which they already have on their records. If there are too many duplicated words or sentences, the article will be rejected.
Then there are the hundreds, if not thousands of other popular article sites that will simply breeze over your article and then accept it. This means that the same article is published on the internet hundreds and sometimes even ...
... thousands of times. Of course you get some people who will tweak the articles here and there to try and make them more unique, but nothing beats a fresh, custom designed article. It's undeniable that it is far more efficient to make a few changes to an article that is already written, but it greatly detracts from the article's purpose in the first place.
Let's take a step back and look at why articles are a successful marketing tool in the first place. A large portion of people go onto the search engines to source information. They may type in one or two keywords, or even a question. Oftentimes articles relating to the keywords will be displayed amongst the first pages. The person will then read the article to find out more information on what it is that they are looking for. At the bottom of the article will be the link to your site, so that if they are looking for a specific product or solution they can follow the link to source it. It is almost blindingly obvious that the article needs to be interesting and informative. You want to captivate the reader so that they read through to the end and find your link. Even better, if they like the article and it satisfies their need, they will follow the link because they trust you. Yes, they trust YOU, because you have given them what they believe to be reliable information.
Now imagine the poor guy sitting behind his computer, researching something or trying to source information. What if most of the articles he reads relating to his search are all the exact same article, with just a few changes in nondescript places? He will lose interest quickly. He is looking for something informative and interesting and different. If you can present a fresh, interesting and informative article you will capture the attention of browsers. You need to gain trust and interest. If your article is good enough, and different, then other sites relating to your content will want to publish your article on their websites. What will this do? It will create more links back to your site.
In conclusion, it only takes a little bit of time and effort to whip up an article. You will have the peace of mind in knowing that it is unique, and the originality of the content will promote itself to the benefit of your website.
