Books offer a refuge from the daily life of people. You can bid your troubles good bye, if even for a few minutes, by picking up a good book. Some of the best books to read can be so entertaining that they can take your mind away from the pressing problems of your life. A lot of people make it a habit of reading right from the time they are children. This habit stays with them all their lives and stands by them in times of crisis. But how do you cultivate the reading habit in yourself? Here’s how.

a.There should be a set time every day when you read. Set a time for this as religiously as you would set a time to have your morning cuppa. It may be in the morning, evening or before going to bed at night. This is a time when you read even if you have other work at hand. Doing this every day without fail is going to ensure that it becomes a habit.

b.Find out which of the best books to read you want to read in the next one year. Have a list at hand all the time where you are going to write the names of the books you want to read. You may hear of such books from friends and acquaintances or on the internet. Or it may ...
... be a new release book you want to read. Put them on the list. This way you will never be short of good books you want to read.

c.Becoming the member of a library also is a great idea to cultivate the reading habit in yourself. A library is a great place to hang out for people who love to read. It is a place where you can get books in several varieties no matter what your tastes are. It is also a place where you can borrow books to read on the premises or take home with you.

d.Make reading an enjoyable time for yourself. Have a cup of coffee at hand before your reading time. Make sure that you have cushions behind you and a comfortable chair on which to sit while you read. Ensure that there are no shouting children or the noise of a blaring television coming in when you read.
