Apart from producing such sounds, these artists are also responsible for regulating the actions of the puppet. The synchronization and the timing is very important in such cases. A mismatch for a fraction of a second and the artist is already looking down the barrel.

In the olden days, the artists used to perform these activities in a courtyard, to impress the king and the queen. Most of them also used to perform such activities on the streets, to win bread for their family. Even today, people are making a living out of this art. The rate of such puppet theatre has mitigated to a large extent. It is the responsibility of the society, to revive this form of art, once again!
