If you like to spend time outside, a pool or spa is a great addition to your garden. Both offer a central point for gatherings and family fun. They both have health benefits and really enhance the look and feel of your outdoor space.

Working Out What You Need

Which you buy largely depends on what you want to get out of your outdoor space. Those who just want to socialise outside could simply go for a spa tub. Spas are also ideal for those who want help to relax or want to benefit from the therapeutic benefits of massaging water jets, but are not worried about exercise.

However, if you want to swim and somewhere for the kids to play with their friends a swimming pool is probably better. An 8x4 pool is big enough for this and they are relatively inexpensive to build and maintain. This is especially true of swimming pools from Adelaide pools and spas, which represent particularly good value for money.

When not in use both spas and swimming pools can double up as water features. Many modern pools include lighting and waterfalls, which look spectacular at night.

The Best of Both Worlds

Fortunately, ...
... you no longer have to make a straight choice between a pool and spa. You can now buy swimming pools with spas built into them. This gives you the best of both of both worlds. You get a full-length swimming pool to enjoy with all the health benefits of being able to swim every day. In addition, you get a seated area, complete with spa jets, so can benefit from the health benefits of a water jet massage.

Generally speaking the spa area is not heated. If you want this, you need to consider buying both a pool and spa or a spa pool with a separate heated area.

Another good option is a swim spa. These spas are a bit bigger than a normal spa tub. They are longer and have powerful jets that create a stream of water for you to swim against, as well as the ability to turn these jets off and use them as a normal spa.
