Importance Of Hot Runner Controller In The Injection Molding System

If you are not a part of the plastic manufacturing industry, chances are very slim that you would have heard of the injection molding system. Just to give you some basic information, the injection molding system is the method used by plastic manufacturers to produce different thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic parts. The raw materials or inputs are deposited into a heated barrel where they are combined and assembled in molding cavities of different shapes to get different types of plastic parts.

Why is it important to control the temperature of the machine?
Unlike the cold runner system, which simply has to be frozen to start working, the mechanism of a hot runner system is slightly more complicated. The right temperature has to be maintained at a uniform level throughout the manufacturing process so that the entire procedure goes off without a hitch. If the right temperature balance is not maintained, then the product wont be of the desired quality. Also, the actual temperature might be much more than the temperature displayed on the machine which if undetected will cause the machine to break down and stop working. This is harmful as production will stop and there will be a lot of monetary loss and wastage of materials. Apart from this, the broken down machine will have to be repaired for which the manufacturer will have to involve hot runner troubleshooting. All this really complicates a more or less simple and straightforward procedure of manufacturing plastic parts. This is precisely the reason why having a hot runner controller is necessary and important. The hot runner controller ensures that the correct temperature is maintained by allowing the manufacturer to adjust the temperature even during the manufacturing process. Also, the correct degrees are displayed on the monitor so that precautions if necessary can be taken beforehand. Therefore installing a hot runner controller is an added bonus.
