Some Mistakes You Should Avoid While Buying Racehorses!
After every big investment we make, we suffer from a psychological condition known as cognitive dissonance. Dissonance is the discrepancy between what we thought we will get and what we’ve actually got! It happens frequently while making big investments that this dissonance leads to disappointment, and in order to cover up for this, we only look at the brighter side of investments. This happens to first time horse investors very often! When they go to buy thoroughbred for sale, there are some common facts they overlook, leading them to make a failed investment. Here’s how you can avoid all those common mistakes:
• Looks: It’s a common psychological trait to go for the ‘best looking thing’. Be it at the time of purchasing a cell phone, a motor bike or even a bride, we choose the one that looks the most impressive! However, good looking has no connection with performance when it comes to horse racing. At times, a goods looking Racehorse sales must not be cooperative enough to be trained by the jockey, making all your investment go down the drain. On the other ...

• Price: People also suffer from a common misconception that the most expensive equates for the best. However, that’s also not true always. The most expensive tagged horse might not guarantee you a win. On the other hand, a lesser known breed of horse might be lowly priced, but what if it’s proven its mettle time and again? Always make sure you do your research about the race horse for sale before buying them. Check their race history, the trainer they’ve trained under and the background details of their previous owner in case you’re buying a horse that’s already into racing.
• Not planning expenses in advance: Horse racing is not just limited to buying a good racehorse and making him race during derbies. Buying a horse comes with various other costs such as giving the horse a clean and cozy stable, a professional trainer who can design his training schedule, a veterinarian who can come at frequent intervals in order to take blood samples for blood test and give the due vaccinations, carrying the horse from the stable to the race venue, and the entry fees for taking part in the derby championship. Make sure you calculate your expenses well to avoid embarrassing situations.
• Just for breeding: In case you wish to buy horses for breeding but are a first timer, don’t take this risk. If you are well equipped with professional trainers and have the necessary personnel, you might take it up. Else, it’s advisable to avoid.
