Where To Enjoy Your Holidays In India
Magical, mystical India – the land once considered the place of snake charmers, can charm tourists just as easily. Whether you want to spend your holidays in India wallowing in the feeling of majesty in Rajasthan or the spirituality of Punjab or the sheer splendour of Gujarat – here are some places that you just can’t miss on your North India tour packages.
Jaipur
India’s ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is a lovely remnant of royalty. The ambience of royalty pervades the palaces and forts, and very streets. Who knows? You might even catch sight of a snake-charmer during your wanderings. The ‘Hawa Mahal’ – the most popular palace you will find during you trip to Jaipur – was built so that the ladies of the palace could look out at the streets without being seen themselves. The palace facade is now well known symbol of Jaipur. Whatever you do, don’t miss the Amber Fort. Take an elephant ride to the top of the hill, the elephant bedecked in all the pomp and regalia as if carrying royalty. While you’re there try the Jaipur specialty dish of ‘Mishra Mawa’.
Amritsar
Spiritual tours in India ...
... are endless – but when you’re part of North India tour packages, Amritsar is a must-see. Guru Ram Das founded the Golden Temple at Amritsar in 1577. Since then, temple has been considered special to the Sikhs. Amritsar is widely considered the spiritual capital of Sikhs, as is denoted by the literal translation of the place’s name: Holy Pool of Nectar.
Ahmedabad
The former capital of Gujarat, Ahmedabad, is the most populous city in the state. Sometimes called ‘Karnavati’ after an ancient city near the area, it is well known for Sabarmati Ashram. It is where Mahatma Gandhi lived at for some of his lifetime. A unique mosque to visit here is the Jhoolta Minar, or the Shaking Minarets.
Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer is remarkable for the sheer fact that it is made from sandstone. You’ll be spell bound, mo matter how many holidays in India you’ve enjoyed. The size of the Jaisalmer Fort, has palaces, mansions and several temples, not to the mention the shops and common residences – perhaps now, you understand the attraction of Rajasthan. The fort, also known as the Golden Fort, for the hue it takes on during sunset, was built as long back as 1156.
These are just some places that you should visit while you’re part of North India tour packages. To give a true listing of places where you can enjoy your holidays in India, would be unending – with so many places to delight you.
