Geometry Test Problems
Introduction to Geometry test problems:
Geometry is a bunch of mathematics that deals with the different shapes like circle, rectangle, square,lines, and other geometry shapes.basically the geometry is used to discus about the properties of the shapes and their relations, and measurements of the shapes and the graph formations.
Descriptions about geometry test problems:
The following topics are covered under geometry,
Analytic geometry: Analytic geometry is kind of geometry in which we can discus about graph drawing , line segments and curves and numerical representation of the algebraic equation , in other words we can call the analytic geometry as coordinate or Cartesian geometry.
Algebraic geometry: Algebraic geometry is mostly based on the algebraic equations. And the solutions of the equations are drawn in the graph; algebraic geometry represents the geometric objects in the form of algebraic equations.
Descriptive geometry: Descriptive geometry is used to study about plane surfaces. And we can implement a three dimensional plane on a two dimensional plane, by using ...
... this descriptive geometry we can derive the relationship between the points, lines and other surfaces.
Differential geometry: The calculus concepts are applied to curves ,planes and other geometry surfaces and it’s a study of the plane surfaces and curves by using the differential calculus methods.
Projective geometry: Projective geometry is used to describe about the properties of geometry structures, here we can represent the following structures like lines, points, planes and other surfaces.
Geometry test problems:
Practice test Pro 1: A rectangle has a perimeter of 300 meters and its length L is 2 times its width W. Find the dimensions W and L, and the area of the rectangle.
Sol : Use the formula of the perimeter to write.
2 L + 2 W = 300
We now rewrite the statement "its length L is 2 times its width W" into a mathematical equation as follows:
L = 2 W
We substitute L in the equation 2 L + 2 W = 300 by 2 W.
2(2 W) + 2 W = 300
Expand and group like terms.
6 W = 300
Solve for W.
W = 50 meters
Use the equation L = 2 W to find L.
L = 2 W = 100 meters
Use the formula of the area.
Area = L W = 100 * 50 = 5000 meters 2
Practice test pro 2: A ball has radius of 4. What is the volume of the ball?
sol : ball is a shape of sphere.
the volume of a sphere is = 4/3 `pi`r3
here r= 4. apply the value in the formula, we get
= 4/3 (3.14 *43)
= 4/3(3.14*4*4*4)
= 4/3 ( 200.96)
= 803.84 / 3
= 276.95 m3.
