Lonavala is a hill station situated in the district of Pune in Maharashtra. The hill station is located at about 64 km from the city of Pune. It is situated at 96 km from Mumbai. The hill station is famous across India for the Chikki they produce. Lonavala is one of the major stations when you travel by rail from Mumbai and Pune. Those who are based in Mumbai can easily get local trains to Karjat and then further go to Lonavala. This is the most sought after weekend destination for the Mumbaikars. The best time to visit Lonavala is during the monsoon. The place becomes lush green with water filled in the ponds and also the ecstatic waterfalls. Rey Wood Park – this place is situated very near to the Lonavala station. It is close to the city hardly one kilometer from the city. This place remains on the first agenda of most of the tourists visiting Lonavala. The main attraction in this park is the tall and huge trees which flower during the seasons. Bhushi Dam – the right time to visit this place is in the month of August. This is the time when the dam floods and the scenario are worth watching. The overflowing water seems to look like a mini waterfall. The experience of watching the dam is great.
