Business management as we see it today is not a result of a day or two. It has rather, developed over decades and turned out to be the way it is today. It is very important for business to change their strategies and the way they function, along with the changing scenario. Only then can a business survive in a long run. One cant predict how exactly the business world would look like after a couple of decades. Innovations and creativity may drive it to all new heights as they are unconstrained. 1. Setting up the business: The way people used to set up their businesses has now changed. Earlier entrepreneurs never thought of global market. 2. Branding: Decades back nobody invested money and efforts in branding their company the way it is being done now-a-days. Back then word of Mouth was a very widely used strategy for branding among others like sticking posters, spreading flyers etc. A viral marketing technique called whispering campaigns was a very creative branding technique of that time. In that, a company would hire a woman to ride in escalators in office buildings, talking loud about how good a product or service is. The lady would talk loud enough to make herself overheard. In the present scenario a blend of techniques are used for branding which includes advertising, social media engagement, building good public relations, conducting events etc.
3. Sales- Earlier, the most common sales technique was nothing else than door to door selling. Otherwise sales were done from the outlets. Entrepreneurs lacked creativity and it was only later that new sales techniques were introduced. These days there are several sales and marketing that are practiced by businesses according to their needs. Above that, softwares are used for managing the sales efficiently. One such software is Sage ACT for which Sage online training is also available for users to learn how to use the software efficiently.
4. Operations- Previously operations of an organization were overseen by either an operations in-charge or manager who would spend hours with labors and engineers on field, drenched in sweat. But now, it is IT era, software are available that help users oversee all the operations of the company efficiently. All this can be done, sitting in an AC cabin, in front of a computer.
