Do You Need Different Control Panels With Seo Hosting?
The nature of SEO web hosting is something that’s very simple, but the actual workings of it can often get people very confused. Because this type of hosting requires that different websites have different Class Cs in their IP addresses, it confuses many business owners. What does that even mean? Do you need to rent different servers in order to get different IP addresses? And do you need to manage different control panels?
First to understand how the control panel within SEO hosting works, you need to understand IP addresses and how they work. Every website or Internet connection online has its own IP address. The router you use at home will have its own address, as will your company’s website. However, every website on one server will have the same IP address, because this address identifies the actual server to other servers. Within that IP address are different classes, and it’s these classes that pertain to SEO hosting.
IP addresses are filled with numbers that are separated by periods, such as: 123.456.789.10. Each of these numbered sections are assigned letters, going from right to left: A, B, C, and ...
... D. That Class C is important in SEO hosting, because it’s what the search engines look at and, if you have multiple sites that all have the same Class C, the search engines could actually penalize you.
This is because one common tactic in SEO hosting is to create many different sites for the same business, or the same person, and use them to promote the other sites. This generates a lot of traffic for all of the sites, and increases the business’ revenue overall. However, if all of those websites have the same Class C in their IP address, the search engine will actually penalize them instead of drawing more traffic to those sites.
It’s because of this long and somewhat complicated system that leads many people to think that they need different websites stored on different servers, and that they must use separate control panels to manage them. After all, if anything on the server will have the same IP address, that seems to be the only way to change the address. If this were the case however, SEO hosting wouldn’t be nearly as easy or convenient as it is.
When you sign up with an SEO web host, they will assign all of your sites an IP address, and they’ll make sure that each of those addresses has its own Class C. They can do this when setting up the individual websites, and they can all be set up on the same server, because it’s all manually done by the SEO host. Also by the same token, you don’t need to access different control panels in order to have different Class Cs – because they’re all still on the same server!
Many people think that because SEO hosting requires slightly different IP addresses, you’ll need separate control panels to access them. However that’s not at all the case and in fact, one control panel is just another benefit that comes with SEO hosting.
