Natural Acne Treatment Options

Did you know that in the United States alone, almost 60 million people suffer from acne? Now while there are many professional acne treatment products available for those who suffer from severe acne, there are also natural acne treatment options available that many people may not know about that are perfect for mild to moderate acne. While many people allow the problems with acne to go untreated, acne is a problem that we can cure. We look at some home remedies that only use natural ingredients that may provide some acne relief.
Honey can clear your skin
The honey contains enzymes, which function as antimicrobials. These antimicrobials will invigorate the complexion of the skin. It is a natural acne treatment where you will not mind if a little touches your lips. Apply the honey directly to your face, let it settle there for about ten minutes, and proceed to wash it off with warm water.
Alternatively, you can use a mixture of honey and oatmeal to treat acne. You start by preparing the oatmeal according to the manufacturer's directions (only a single serving size of plain oatmeal is necessary). Add almost ...
... 1/4 cup of honey with the oatmeal, make sure to stir the mixture, and let it cool for a bit. Apply it to your face and let it settle there for almost 20 minutes, and then rinse off with warm water. The honey acts as a toner while the oatmeal absorbs excess oil and exfoliates.
Hydrating mask
Is there a natural acne treatment that provides a comforting facemask while working just as well as acne treatment products? It is possible with a puree of one teaspoon of plain yogurt, one strawberry, five cubes of mango, and one-half of an avocado. Wash the skin as you traditionally would and then apply the mask. Allow the mask to sit for about 20 minutes, rinse your face with lukewarm water, and pat dry.
Balancing skin oil
Of course keeping the skin clean is an important part of treating acne conditions, but it is only one part. If you want a balanced skin, you also have to replace the oil you lose by washing your face. Calendula-infused extra virgin olive oil on the skin right after washing will reduce blemishes and provide an even tone. If you are allergic to pollen, you should not use calendula.
Lavender will benefit your skin
Did you know that lavender essential oil contains antibacterial elements? It can help combat acne without excessively drying out your skin. Apply a drop of the oil directly to the acne and you can reduce inflammation. If you spray your face with lavender-infused distilled water, you can prevent further breakouts as well.
