Munnar, also known as the Kashmir of the South, is the epitome of natural beauty and is one of the most popular hill stations of Kerala. Located at an elevation of around 2695 meters above sea level, Munnar provides its visitors with a panoramic view of its lush green surroundings and spectacular misty mountains. It is strategically placed in Idukki District in the eastern part of Kerala.

... rivers. Three rivers, Madupetty, Nallathanni and Periavaru, pass through the hill station. Munnar has several tourist attractions for the visitors. It has waterfalls, rivulets, winding lines and sprawling tea plantations for the tourists to explore. As mentioned above, the hills are situated at an altitude of 1500 metres to 2700 metres above sea level. Anamudi peak has an altitude of 2700 metres. It is the highest peak in South India.

The hill station was a popular summer retreat during the erstwhile British Raj. It is especially known for its vast tea gardens that are breeding grounds for the authentic Munnar tea and is an important part of its tourism. There are many scenic locations in and around Munnar that you should visit like the scenic Atukkad Waterfalls which is one of the prime attractions that also includes tea plantations of Chithirapuram, Mattupetti Dam, Echo point, etc. The Mattupetti Dam is another major attraction and is one of the highlights of Munnar tourism. Located at a distance of about 10 km from the main hill town, it is a very popular spot for tourists and locals alike. You can enjoy many activities with children like boating and horse riding near the lake. There is also the Eravikulam National Park which is situated close to Munnar and is home to many endemic species of plants and animals.

Another exciting place the holiday package can take you to see is Pothamedu located at a 6km distance from the town. Here you can see the beautiful plantations of coffee, tea and cardamom.
