The pressing need of the hour faced by most of the businesses in the modern world is duplicating and backing up data. The nature of business operations has become so complex that any business cannot survive if it cannot store its data and easily transfer it around. Majority of the business departments are linked to one department or the other, for example, marketing department needs to constantly be in touch with sales department as their activities are inter linked. Therefore they always need to be in touch and be able to transfer data. Similarly, the finance department too is dependent on the sales department for its forecast for revenues and costs.

Now the problem that most businesses face is that the medium of backup technology that they install is subjected to a lot of disruptions. These disruptions could be due to overload of data, way too frequent exchange of data or simply due to system heat up. Obviously, when the medium of backup technology is experiencing these problems its ability to backup data is also impaired. These issues may seem trivial to an outsider but the fact of the matter is that these problems ...
... have the capacity to hamper the business adversely. Sometimes, the impact of these problems is so significant that a business fails to overcome these loses. There are a lot of examples in the history business world that were not able to back up their crucial data and were forced out of the industry. So, even if your medium of backup technology is experiencing some problem temporarily, it still contributes in losses, because other business data is being processed simultaneously and while the tape is down it is not backing up for you.

To hedge your business from the problem discussed above you should instantly install IBM LTO4 backup system. IBM is one of the three businesses that engaged in the innovation of Linear Tape Open technology. This technology was especially dedicated to the smooth transferring of business data as well as secure and authentic data backup. The technology was created with the objective that it will make businesses more efficient and effective. The storage capacity of the tape is 800 Gigabytes’ whereas the processing speed is 120 Megabytes per second.

April 2007 marked the launched of this IBM LTO4 tape and changed the fate of the business world because it also introduced the encryption feature. From the early period of 2000 many businesses were experiencing the problem of data intrusion and exploitation; many businesses were also suffering from the loss of crucial business data. To rid them of these problem businesses were forced to invest heavily in security programs, which included install high profile security hardware and software. Naturally such programs raised the costs dramatically, which in turn led to lower profitability for the businesses. IBM LTO4 tape came as a blessing in 2007, it gave businesses the opportunity to encrypt their data and prevent from intrusion, only authorized officials knew how to decode the encrypted data.

Frank Miller is the Marketing Manager of Backuptape and markets TDK LTO and information. He has vast experience in the marketing and trading industries and has been helping buyers who have the backup needs and guide clients about the technology.
