The smoking ban has been in force in the UK for several years now and it's really changed pubs, clubs and bars. Non smokers would definitely say for the better. Social attitudes towards smokers have hardened in recent years and people are fiercely protective of their newly won smoke free spaces. It doesn't look like the law will change any time soon.
