Angles In Quadrilaterals

Quadrilateral means " 4 sides ”
1) quad - 4.
2) lateral - side.
Any four-sided shape are called as a Quadrilaterals.
But the sides have to be in a straight line; moreover it has to be 2-dimensional.Quadrilaterals are moreover simple (not self-intersecting) or complex (self-intersecting). Simple quadrilaterals are either convex or concave.
Properties of quadrilaterals:
4 sides (or edges)
4 vertices's (or corners)
Then 4 interior angles add up to 360 degrees.
Types of Quadrilateral:
Trapezium (or) Trapezoid
Parallelogram
Rhombus
Rectangle
Square
Kite
Four sides (or edges)
Four vertices (or corners).
The interior angles add up to 360 degrees.
Explanation for Angles in Quadrilaterals:
Trapezoid
• A quadrilateral is called as a trapezoid if and only if it contains 2 adjacent angles with the intention of being supplementary, that is, they add up to one in a straight line angle of 180 degrees.

Parallelogram
• Parallelogram is directed the Opposite sides are parallel and equal in length in the lines, and opposite angles are equal in size of the parallel lines.

Square
• A square is a quadrilateral which has four and all four sides are equal in length and every angle in a square is a right angle (90°).
• A square also fits the condition of a rectangle and a rhombus.

Rhombus
• Rhombus is a four-sided figure where all sides have equal length.
• Also contrary sides are parallel and contrary angles are equal.
• An extra intriguing thing is to facilitate that the diagonals of a rhombus intersect each other at right angles.

Rectangle
• A rectangle quadrilateral is a 4 -sided shape where every angle is at right angle (90°).
• Also opposite sides of the rectangle are parallel and of equal length.

Kite
• Two sets of adjacent sides of a kite are equivalent in length
• One set of opposite angles are same in size.
• Diagonals bisect each other at right angles.

In general learning quadrilateral is a plane figure bounded by four straight sides. The activities of interior angles are quadrilateral sum up to 360º. A quadrilateral is a four sided polygon. Types of quadrilaterals include square, rhombus, rectangle, parallelogram, trapezoid, and kite. This section concerns the set of basic shapes: quadrilaterals closed plane figures with four sides. In activities for quadrilaterals learning article, you can learn about the various forms of quadrilaterals.

Activities for quadrilaterals learning; Different types of quadrilaterals
1. Kite:
The geometric name for the wind-blown, flying kite
Adjacent sides equal.
Diagonals intersect at right angles.

Kite
2. Trapezoid:
A four-sided figure with two unequal parallel sides and two non-parallel sides
Has one pair of parallel sides .
A trapezoid has four sides.
Two sides are parallel.
The opposing two sides are not parallel.
Perimeter P= b1+b2+s3+s4
Perimeter equals the sum of the lengths of each side.
Area A= 1/2 h(b1+b2)
Area equals one-half times the height times the sum of the bases.
Trapezoid
3. Parallelogram:
A Four-sided figure with opposite sides equal and parallel. The interior angles are NOT necessarily equal to 90°
Opposite sides are equal and parallel
Opposite angles are equal
Diagonals are unequal and intersect each other at the midpoint and form unequal opposite angles
Area = base x height
Perimeter P= 2b + 2w
Perimeter equals twice the length plus twice the width
Area A= bh
Area equals base times height
Parallelogram
4. Rhombus:
A Four-sided figure with all sides equal. Its opposite sides are parallel.
All sides are equal
Opposite sides are parallel
But it has two acute and two obtuse angles
Perimeter P=4s
Perimeter equals four times the length of one side
Area A= sh
Alternatively A=1/2 d1d2
Rhombus
5. Rectangle:
Four-sides are opposite sides equal and parallel. Each interior angle measures 90°
Opposite sides are parallel
Has four right angles
Diagonals are equal and intersect each other at the midpoint and form equal opposite angles
Perimeter p = 2l +2w
Perimeter equals twice the length plus twice the width
Area A= lw
Area equals length times width
rectangle
6. Square:
Four-sided figure with all four sides are equal. Each internal angle measures 90°
All sides are equal
Has four right angles
Diagonals bisect each other at right angles
It also has four right angles (perfect corners).
Perimeter P = 4s
Perimeter equals four times the length of one side
Area A =s2.
