A philosophy for flower bouquet design.

There is no rigid formula nor is there one dominating factor that leads to good flower bouquet design. Constant energy and drive for each bouquet to be ‘in their moment’ is one of the key factors. Each of the stem should be at the height of its own individual season to maximise all it has to offer the design of the bouquet. It is through years of experience you will understand when that moment has arrived, when the flower is at it’s very best and will perform well in the design. It is imperative that new designs are not just for each of the four seasons but for the changes within the season also.

Is it all mapped out or from some secret formula source?

There are times when bouquet design is planned ahead and each flower featured in a bouquet can be ordered in to meet exact requirements. Alternatively it’s quite good fun to visit the flower markets and draw inspiration from the plethora of varieties on offer. To achieve this ambition we prefer to design as and when we are inspired, sometimes homing in on the flowers natural setting, perhaps prickly and spikey, loose and random, like wandering through a wild garden or else safe and in harmony but with a twist. Peonies and garden Roses, soft fluffy Panicus grass and then the twist - Strawberries and Brambles. This is just a small insight into Blakeworth's philosophy and how every effort is taken to provide your flowers by post as something memorable but never predictable.
