I am not a fan of formal decoration per say. I think in our day today lives all of us have enough of formality, our living room decor must be informal and it should be cozy and warm.
This article will deal with the ideas that will help you create an informal decor. Things like a front parlor in your living room are, I think, things of past. Nowadays people choose homes which are modern and have living room decor which have an informal air.
In the life these days, everyone is always on the go. People are always busy and running ahead and racing against time. In such a scenario, people always need some place where they can relax and rest well. They need a place which is multi-functional. The place needs to be a mixture of style, comfort and elegance.
If you want a living room space which relaxing and is well coordinated. You need to choose elements like laminate sheets furnishing which make the place not just functionally high but also visually appealing.
To create an informal decor, you got to let go off the heavy duty draperies. Heavy draperies look very formal and take away the relaxed feel from ...
... a room environment. You need to choose casual living room window coverings in fabrics which are nice and perky. You need to choose rich fabric which peps up your window treatment and also matches your decorative laminates.
Neutral color scheme is a good idea. To create an informal decor you need to go ahead with a neutral dressing up of your living room. You need to start with a neutral palette. You can get a nice carpet which matches with the walls and accessories. Choose countertop laminates likewise, to add to the whole theme. Oriental rugs look fabulous. Lamps also look pretty with the neutral decor and color scheme.
Clutter is an enemy for a formal or an informal decor, both. So you need to be sure that you eliminate all kinds of clutter from your living room to create a spacious and a good living room decor. Maintain proper cleanliness as cleanliness makes an illusion of space. Cleanliness adds another dimension to the decor. Be it a formal decor or an informal one, keeping it clean is what is the best idea. Add some element of nature, like plants and some water in your decor (fountain is a good idea). Create a vital and informal living room decor.
