You need to use top-notch materials to ensure quality construction of your building. Consult an architectural designer to choose the building materials that suit the climate and other requirements. Some components that are extensively used for construction are concrete, steel, wood, granite and insulation materials.

There are building materials that are manufactured off site and later assembled at the site. Such materials include concrete, steel, aluminium, concrete, wood and fiberglass. You hire a contractor and they will supply the prefabricated building materials.

Galvalume is a kind of steel coated with aluminium-zinc shielding the building against rust, corrosion and fire, providing the building a layer of protection. Use of prefabricated materials such as Ferro cement, calcium silicate products, straw bale, composites and other such materials helps to costs reasonable, yet maintain quality. Ferro cement has cement matrix reinforced with a mesh of iron rods or wires. Calcium silicate bricks are stronger and more durable compared to the usual bricks.

Location of the building also plays a part in the ...
... building materials used. An architectural designer will help choose the building materials factoring in the climate, environment and other requirements.

Glass is a versatile building material that not only allows light to enter a building, but also has a major role to play in architectural accent. It allows light and warmth to enter, yet it does not hold heat like other materials. You need to use complementary materials along with it to ensure your home does not end up cold. If you are building in a region with colder climate, it becomes particularly important.

Concrete is a product that absorbs heat and releases it slowly as the temperature outside cools down. This helps maintain warmth in home. This acts as counter balance to glass. It is the job of the architect to position it well so that it can capture heat during the day and release it in the evening.

Insulation is another element you must take care of. For ensuring adequate warmth, insulation becomes an essential component that has to be added. Some insulation materials are calcium silicate, elastomeric foam, cellular glass, mineral wool, fiberglass, polyurethane, polyisocyanurate and polystyrene.

Calcium silicate is light weight; has high temperature, low thermal conductivity and chemical resistance. Cellular glass insulation is comprised of crushed glass combined with a cellulating agent. Cellulose is made using recycled paper, treated with chemicals to make it insect and fire-resistant, and is wet-sprayed or loose-filled. Fiberglass insulation is made from molten glass spun into microfibers. Components of mineral wool are molten glass, slag or stone.

Polyurethane is formed by reacting a polyol with a polymeric isocyanate or diisocyanate. Polystyrene is manufactured by extrusion or expansion. Extrusion results in fine cells, containing a blend of refrigerant gas and air. Expanded polystyrene produces closed, coarse cells that contain air.

As for the bricks, these are available in different sizes and strength, so you can choose any that suit your requirements. Concrete, clay and mud bricks are used for construction. Glazed and rubberized bricks are used for decorative objectives.

Wood is mainly used for interior decoration as it exudes charm. Oak, mahogany, pine wood and teak wood are some varieties of wood used for construction.

Granite and marble and ceramic tiles are extensively used for construction purposes. Granite is strong natural stone used for constructing floors, walls and countertops. Marble is available in a range of colours and designs.

For procuring bouwmaterialen or building materials, zero in on a reputable supplier who can assure you of the quality of supplies and timely delivery. It would ensure that only top-notch material is used in the construction of your building.
