Building a home of their own is a dream of millions of people in this country. Factors like increasing purchasing power of middle class and affordable housing options are further adding to this age-old desire of having one’s own home. If you too are busy building a home of your dreams, make sure you do not neglect the ‘roof’ part. Roof is something that is invaluable and indispensable; it not only protects the inhabitants from the harsh weather conditions outside, but also lends a ‘Midas Touch’ to the décor of the home. So, what is it that should be done to ensure a long-lasting roof for your house? Here are the ideas:
1. Use the Best Cement for Construction
For most of us, building a home is a big investment; it’s something we do only once or twice in our lives, right? So, wouldn’t it be better to use the best cement in India, which is characterized by an optimal particle size distribution, which in turn, enables denser concrete? The dense concrete guards against cracks and water leaks, and hence, ensures that the roof lasts for generations.
...
... Saving a few bucks by opting for ordinary quality cement was not a wise decision, is not a wise decision and will not be a wise decision ever in future. Get the best cement for construction so the roof of your home always stays strong and beautiful.
2. Design Your Roof and Draw-up a Plan
Remember the golden management rule, ‘failure to planning is planning to fail’? Whether it is interior designing or roofing your house, you have to have a plan in place. It’s better if you seek expert guidance, instead of doing it all by yourself.
3. Measure Your Roof for Its Dimensions and the Amounts of Materials Required
You’re absolutely right if you just said that measuring roof to determine its dimensions and amounts of materials needed is a part of the 2nd step mentioned above. Well, it is. But, it’s been put up as a separate point to emphasis the need of measurement. Apart from saving from frustration, measurement of roofs will help you manage your finance better.
4. Get Rid of All Old, Damaged and Useless materials; clean What Remains
In case, you’re re-roofing your house, make sure you remove all old, damaged and useless materials. Now, you can clean the remaining so you can use them to reduce your expenses on re-roofing.
