Recover Raid Systems With Toronto Raid Services

Information technology isn’t only a trend in our houses and our research institutes. It has taken over the way we do business as well. Instead of holding our files and information in an office and worrying about finding the necessary files in drawers and the time it takes to find just one file, it’s easy to just write them down on a Hard Disk Drive and store thousands and millions of them. As computers become increasingly necessary in a company, and most employees have a computer to work on, the computers are connected to one server or more, holding the necessary data in a RAID system for increased reliability. Like many other systems, RAID can fail and if the IT specialists in the company want to have the data again, they should refrain from trying to fix the problem themselves, and ask for the help of professionals who have the necessary experience allowing them to recover RAID systems and their data.
The RAID system works by connecting a bigger number of small and cheap Hard Disk Drives, and storing the information on them while using a RAID controller. The system is designed for maximum stability and reliability, ...
... and if one drive fails, it can be replaced by another one and keep the system running. If another Hard Disk Drive fails and you have at least two malfunctioning drives in the RAID array, the full system fails. This means that the data is lost, and usually the first symptom of a RAID failure is the difficulty in reading the data or finding it in the first place. This is just one way in which a RAID array can fail, though. There are many other ways in which it can fail and some of the most important are software errors which happen in the case of the operating system, and in other cases even the RAID system controller can fail. There can also be a boot failure or a rebuild failure and even a damaged RAID configuration in which the RAID system doesn’t work. This however accounts for less than 10% of technical RAID failures and experts say that the rest of over 90% of cases of RAID data loss is usually due to simple employee error. This can happen in a number of ways. First, there’s the possibility of a drive malfunctioning and the probability of it not being detected and replaced in time, before the second one fails. The second possibility, and the one that the RAID recovery specialists are particularly worried about, is the attempt of the IT specialists in the company to recover the RAID array themselves, which results in a permanently damaged array.
The recovery of a failed RAID system is done in a laboratory with specialize equipment and the right certification. Recovery specialists have the necessary knowhow to first identify the problem and then proceed to solving it. Securing the RAID array in the first place and trying to get it as fast as possible to a recovery service is the right thing to do. Furthermore, not interfering with it and trying to fix it yourself guarantees that the experts will recover it with more ease and less expense and that is great news for your company and your business.
