Another issue that prevented “man with a van” businesses from reaching the expected operating standards is the fact that they were merely individuals with a personal van, and not a company with many vehicles of all shapes and sizes.

Therefore when a significant demand for 3 and 4 bedroom homes in Dublin occurred so too did a number of searches for relocation and home removal services, which exceeded the offerings of man with a van services.

People began seeking much larger vehicles to cater for bulky furniture, such as beds, sofas, tables, etc.
Though man with a van service could complete such transportation operations, it would have proved to have been much more time consuming process with a similar price tag in the end. Thus their competitive price was no more, and people began and have continued to opt for safer, less time consuming services
