Your vision is an important part of your senses. Since almost everything we do involves seeing visually we tend to take better care of our eyes than any other parts of our bodies. When we have problems seeing the first thing we do is think about glasses. There is a kind of glasses that not too many people have heard of which can improve far or near sightedness. These glasses are known as pinhole glasses.

The residents of Alaska have used these glasses for generations. With all the snow they get up there if they don't use something to stop all that light hitting their eyes they suffer from what's call snow blindness. This is a very painful condition that will stop a person from using their eyes until the condition has healed. These glasses have a little slit in them that refracts the glare from the sunshine. Most of them will last a lifetime as they are made of a durable plastic and don't need any maintenance.

Pinhole glasses can't replace prescription glasses in every situation but until you try them you'll never know if they will benefit you or not.
