It was way back in the 18th century that the origins of modern day hypnosis can be traced to. An Austrian physicist first used magnets to patients' bodies to heal them of various ailments. This method then was named ‘mesmerism' after the physicist, Franz Anton Mesmer.
Modern day street hypnosis is a kind of hypnosis when a person can come right up to you in the middle of the street and with basic simple conversations, get you transfixed in a state of trance, give you a powerful and mind blowing experience. Master hypnosis artistes may hypnotise to enthral crowds, to change a person's life or to even get benefits out of them. More often than not you have heard of people who bump into you and after a few minutes of conversation, you seem to lose control over your body and do things that are totally uncharacteristic for you. This is an experience of being hypnotized by a Street Hypnotist. In accurate terms, Hypnosis is a focused state of concentration when the body is open to far more suggestions and can help reduce discomfort and anxiety.

3. To sleep better, improve memory and concentration

Teaching yourself is as easy as clicking your mouse buttons a few times and looking at videos uploaded on some websites. There are popular books available in the market on this topic, Explorations in Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, to name a few. Both have been written by the renowned author Dave Elman in the year 1970. The American Board of Hypnotherapy or ABH conducts seminars and Certificate training courses to train people in this art form and the course is conducted by the renowned UK trainer, Emma James. However, a pre requisite to it is a Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner Certification. Some of the steps the training includes are Pre Talk, Stages of Hypnosis, Pendulum Paradigm, Progressive Test Inductions and Post Hypnotic Suggestions. Some areas in UK which that have famous Hypnotherapy centres are Devon, Exeter and the South West regions.
