Get The Ventilation Ducting Right

It is all too easy to downplay the role that Ventilation Ducting plays within the construction of a building or a construction. When ducting is not selected appropriately, several problems can come to the surface. For instance, when a kitchen is fitted, noise emitting from the cooker for example can be blamed upon the manufacturer of the cooker themselves when the culprit of the problems can indeed be the installer that selected the ventilation ducting. It is vitally important that air is allowed to move around in the right manner, meaning that getting the ducting right is a must.
Let air travel freely
When ventilation ducting is applied correctly air is allowed to move from the original source to the exterior of the home in the quietest manner possible and with the shortest journey possible. There should be no obstacles in the way in the route that the air is set to travel – if there is a bend for the air to navigate round it’s clear to see how the journey of the air becomes more complicated and the process slowed down, leading to unwanted excess noise as a result. ...
... Ventilation ducting essentially provides the route for the air to travel through and the more successfully it is installed the more desirable the results are. The more powerful the cooker hood is, the more efficient the ducting needs to be. Having the incorrect ducting installed can even lead to manufacturer guarantees being voided – making it incredibly important that manufacturer guidelines are stuck to rigidly.
Minimise condensation
Whilst round ventilation ducting is perhaps the most effective solution, physical space can often make it impractical, so as an alternative rectangular or flat ducting is advised when space is not abundant. Rigid rather than flexible ducts are also widely advised in order for air to flow as freely as possible. It’s also important to keep condensation to a minimum, and where needed, as condensation trap should be installed to prevent it from building up. So, if you’ve been blaming your cooker’s manufacturer for any faults that you’ve noticed, consider that the fault instead lies in poor ventilation ducting.
