5 Tips For A Study Room Makeover
You can either turn a room into your study room, or choose a specific corner in your apartment for your writing desk. No matter what way you go, here are 5 tips that will help you a lot.
1. Look for the Quiet Part
To be able to concentrate better on books, make sure you look for the quietest part of your apartment. How on earth you’ll work or study when you’ve your kids shouting for their favourite TV programs in their rooms?
2. Lighting
Once you’ve grabbed the quietest corner of your apartment, the next step is ensuring a well-lit space or room. Make sure the room has sufficient natural light; if possible, place the writing desk next to a window. A table lamp is also a worthwhile purchase, especially if you work at nights.
3. High Pressure Laminate and Furniture in the Room
The obvious furniture in a study room includes a writing desk and a bookcase or shelves. You can even bring a sofa in for a comfy reading. Laminates, such as composite laminate are the best surfacing solutions for study room’s surfaces. Hundreds of laminate colors ...
... and designs are out there that can be considered to give a study room a distinct appeal.
Laminates such as high pressure laminate sheets are also a great choice for people who don’t want to spend money on buying new furniture. The best thing with laminates is they don’t disintegrate easily, and beautify the space beyond imagination. Of course, there are some safety guidelines that need to be kept in mind, when you decorate your surfaces with laminate sheets.
4. Colors for the Walls
Avoid too bright and too dark colors; bright colors, such as red and orange hinder the ability of a person to concentrate properly; dark colors, on the other hand, make the room look like smaller and darker. Use neutral colors for the walls to create a relaxed environment. But, you can always pick one wall (just one wall), and color it the way you want.
5. Add-ons
Accentuate the looks of your living room with a vase with fresh flowers at the corner of your desk. A green plant can also be placed in a corner of the room. Hang a work of art on the wall, and also shop for a nice rug for the floor.
If you’re shopping for the high pressure laminate sheets for your study room’s furniture, just make sure you buy quality ones, so they last for a long time.
