Hardwood charcoal does not contain any chemical that may spoil the meat in any case. You should always use lighter fluids to light the charcoal such as coal chimney or electric coil and with this you will be able to avoid the flavor of the chemicals. However, sometime it leaves a lighter and mild smoky flavor over the meat.
The Hardwood charcoal is little costly as you would expect it than the briquettes, but are very easily gettable. You can have it from the supermarkets and superstores in the city. It normally burns fast and retains the heat longer as compared to others and it reacts rapidly to the changes in the flow of air and this makes easier for the user to control the temperature of the cooker.
It is always advisable to look for things that are easy, convenient and low at cost, but when it’s the matter of quality you can compromise on the cost of the product.
