Rick Owens is an American designer who took the world by storm with his dark and edgy clothes. He founded his label in 1994 and at that point of time used to retail exclusively to a risk taking agent in Los Angeles. Later in 2001, he acquired an agent for worldwide distribution and shifted his entire production to Paris. Why he shifted from Los Angeles to Paris has been the source to a huge debate, but Owens’ argument is that there is no place like Paris for accepting and experimenting with fashion. It took him two seasons to decide that he wanted to establish his career in France.
