The Toshiba Portege laptop has dual personalities under its bonnet. It can either be your best friend or your worst enemy, of course depending on the way you want it, with so much potent power it can be your weapon of choice and your friend in need, while on the other side, if you’re not familiar with the brand itself, it can play a negative role in deciding whether it is the one you want, let’s start from it being a friend of yours, having a core i5 processor is enough power to flaunt, but there is more than what meets the eye.

It features a DVD-R and CD-r writer too so you can be entertained as much as you want and plus it as the speakers to cope with its entertainment hardware too, the sound is really cool for the size and these days it’s hard to come by a laptop that yields good sound quality, and it really shined in our tests so far, the voice through its small yet powerful speakers was more than adequate and there was no overdo of it either, one of the things we really liked about it. ... by Toshiba and it needs praise so that’s what we give it, the screen is infact, one of the best we have seen on a laptop since a while and that’s un usual for a company like Toshiba, because more and more companies are into this laptop thingy and they don’t have screens that have quality and the brightness properties of the Toshiba, which is surprising too sometimes. Apart from all this you get the typical WIMAX 4G technologies enabled options too, and also did we mention you have WLAN too? You get wireless internet whenever you have a connection nearby and the range for finding a WLAN router was commendable too, sadly that however cannot be said about the build quality since we haven’t had a chance to see what it usually can do, but we have heard that these things don’t last long enough and tend to get ragged pretty easily and that is because of the build quality of this laptop, the shiny surface is prone to finger prints which we didn’t like, it ruined its appeal, and we spent an hour out of two just to wipe it clean to remove the finger prints, not good at all. But where the build quality isn’t that commendable, the power surely is, with the core i5 processor you get ample amounts of ram to work with big software’s like Photoshop cs5, which is a breeze, since it now supports multi processor support you can say that it is the second best, if not the best, if that existed at all, that from the i7, it’s one of the best in terms of having something that is not harsh on the pocket and yet on par with one of the best out there. Last but not least, the battery, you get 3 hours. The choice is yours now.
