What are Cherry Pickers?
Sometimes you have a job to do that is located somewhere high with no obvious access, for example on the outside of an upper storey on a tall building, up a tree or at the top of a street light. For those occasions, where it is dangerous or impractical to use ladders, a ‘cherry picker’ is used. Cherry pickers (also known by such names as Elevated Work Platforms, basket cranes, man lifts, boom lifts and hydraladders) are essentially a bucket (to hold the person undertaking the work) attached to a hydraulic lift. This is normally attached to a vehicle of some description, so that it can be manoeuvred into position wherever it is needed.
What do people use cherry pickers for?
Cherry pickers have many uses. Traditionally they were designed for picking high hanging fruit in orchards, but they are more often now used for tasks such as high up maintenance work on tall buildings, lamp posts, or telegraph poles. They can also be used for installing lights for occasions such as Christmas parades and other celebratory events. They are basically used for those jobs that are too tall for ...
... a step ladder, but not tall or extensive enough for a crane.
Where is the best place to hire cherry pickers?
