In 2012, the total output value of China’s LED industry was CNY 205.9 billion with the year-on-year growth of 34%. Of which, the output value of upstream epitaxial wafer and chip industry, midstream packaging industry and downstream application industry was CNY 7.2 billion, 39.7 billion and 159 billion respectively; the year-on-year growth was 20%, 24% and 37% respectively.

At present, China’s LED industry has formed four major regions (Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, Fujian & Jiangxi region and the northern region), seven large-scale bases (Dalian, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Nanchang, Xiamen, Yangzhou and Shijiazhuang). The industry chain is relatively complete, including the production of LED epitaxial wafer, the preparation of LED chips, the packaging of LED chips and the application of LED products.
