Setting Your Business On The Right It Path With Itil Training And Qualifications

With the economy still so uncertain and businesses going down left, right and centre, every part of a company, no matter what its size is, has to be at the cutting-edge and operating at the top of its game so that it doesn't end up going the same way.
With technological advances pushing IT into the front of our lives, every business has adopted it in some way to try and give it an advantage, however small, over its rivals. One of the key philosophies driving the adoption of IT into business is promoted by ITIL, an organisation which believes, in the simplest terms, that the key aspect of IT is that it has to be aligned so that it fits in as closely as possible with the needs of the business as well as the way in which it operates.
The benefits of adopting this approach increases productivity (and, therefore, profits), reduces costs, increases customer satisfaction and generally benefits the company as a whole. The organisation details its philosophy in five texts available from its website, and also trains companies and individuals who want to find out more about how they can benefit both professionally and personally ...
... from taking on the organisation's approach.
ITIL training is provided via a modular scheme where participants have to gain qualifications in lower stages before they can apply to gain higher ones. The first qualification is the ITIL Foundation stage, and enables candidates to gain a basic understanding and overview of the ITIL framework and what makes it so useful in terms of helping companies to develop and grow through the use of IT.
Candidates can then move onto the Intermediate qualification once they have finished this course, and continue the process until they have attained the ITIL Master Qualification, which will not only have required them to gain all of the other qualifications but also to have worked in IT service management for five years or more at a leadership or management level. Training is conducted by ITIL-approved Accredited Training Organisations, of which there are many located across the country, so you shouldn't be too far from somewhere to go and receive your training if you decide it's the right path for you to take.
From a personal point-of-view, this type of qualification can make a huge contribution to your chances of landing a job if you decide you want to work in the IT sector – if you already do work in that sector, you can increase your qualifications and increase your chances of promotion, either within the company you already work at or elsewhere. It does companies no good to cut the IT department, as IT is a fundamental part of all business in some way now, so the best way of saving money is to make sure the IT processes are as streamlined and effective as possible.
A survey carried out in 2008 Glomark-Governen showed that implementing this system can improve recovery time after a disaster by up to 74% and reduce IT support costs by up to 32%. Every little helps, and ITIL can help you save even more than you thought possible every day - gaining its qualifications is the first place to start.
