The MMR jab is offered to all new babies and it is very important that parents vaccinate their children against these dangerous childhood illnesses. The MMR vaccine offers protection against measles, mumps and rubella which can all be very serious for children, especially babies. In recent years there have been reports that the MMR jab was linked to causing Autism in children and this frightened many parents who were obviously very worried about these claims and many then choose not to give their children the MMR vaccine. Parents are still wary of MMR vaccine and some private clinics offer single MMR doses as it is the combined vaccine that was under scrutiny. Parents can pay for their child to have a single dose of these three MMR vaccine jabs which many parents feel is a much safer choice for their child as these single MMR and have no links to causing any other conditions.
There has been lots of medical research and studies carried out on the links of MMR vaccine with Autism and there has never been any substantial evidence found to prove the claim that is does cause ...
... Autism in some children. Never the less the fear is still in parents minds and many will be happy to pay for single MMR jabs to eliminate the worry and risk they feel there might be. Private Doctors and clinics that offer the single MMR vaccine option will be committed to sourcing all their vaccines from internationally recognised manufacturers. These MMR jabs may not be licensed in the UK but this just means that they do not have marketing licence and therefore can only be prescribed and cannot be bought over the counter.
The NHS offer the combined MMR vaccine to all children free of charge but parents do have the option to pay privately for the single MMR jabs if this is the option they would prefer. Single MMR injections given at a private clinic will be administered by fully qualified doctors who have all the necessary experience and training to be able to give the MMR safely to children of all ages.
