The Miss-call That Cost The Game

There was 1:50 left on the clock, and the 49ers were just 5 points behind. It was a fourth-and-goal from the Raven’s 5 year line. The 49ers knew the touchdown, so close, would turn the tide of the game. Colin Kaepernick threw the ball to the end zone where Michael Crabtree was positioned to catch it. But Crabtree didn’t make the catch. As he went up to grab the ball, he was impeded by Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith and the throw was incomplete.

Immediately Crabtree and his coach Jim Harbaugh argued to the officials that an infringement by Jimmy Smith had kept Crabtree from catching the ball. Alas, call was deemed good. At that point, the 49ers game was pretty much lost.
Was it an infringement? Was a bad call the reason the 49ers lost? Ask 100 people and there will be 100 different answers.
