The Exact Difference Between Spa And Hot Tub
If you really like some repose in a bathtub, then you probably should opt for a spa and hot tubs equipment, wherein you can soak yourself after a tired-hectic day. Spa and hot tubs are terms often used interchangeably that refers to just one thing – a large hot tub used for therapeutic and relaxation purposes. The difference between both these terms is acutely minor, however distinguished. For one of the common reasons both hot tubs and spas refer to the same thing giving one end result: relaxed muscles, body and mind. While it is obvious to conclude that both the aspects are based on some common reasons, there are many other factors that differentiate these two things from one another.
Difference between Spas and Hot Tubs :
Design and Materials -
Traditionally, the hot tubs were made and designed from wood material. Today, with advancing techniques these materials are available in molded plastics or some minor form of fiberglass. In present times, the designs and materials of the tubs have drastically modernized. These tubs are portable devices as the water is self-contained and ...
... circulated without any continual refilling needed. The modern day tubs also have water jets with advanced multi-level seating and filtration systems that appear more like a spa.
On the other hand, the design of a spa is more or less similar to a hot tub. The materials used in modern day spas are rugged or made of fiberglass. Moreover, just like hot tubs, modern spas have air or water jets, multi-level seating options and facilities like cup holders and underwater speakers.
Location for Installation -
The main objective of both hot tubs and spas is the location where they are constructed. Basically, both the tubs can be installed in the indoors or outdoors. However a hot is considered portable and feasible to use because it contains all the filters and mechanics in a single unit itself. Thus it can be installed anywhere in the backyard or a lawn of one’s home.
On the flipside, spas are also sometimes available as one single unit but are not portable. Spas are often installed or assembled on site. They are installed in-ground next to a water filtration system or mainly a swimming pool. Therefore, the space that would be required for setting up a spa could be stricter than for installing a hot tub.
In addition to spa and hot tubs differences, due to its design, water in a hot tub is filled using hose water and not with the use of in-out water inlets for draining or refilling purposes. The tub is chemically treated and water is drained once in every quarter for maintenance and cleaning. Speaking of spas, the in-ground spas adapt the same filling and draining methods as that of a swimming pool, whereas, stand-alone spas harmonize to the methods of a hot tub.
