Patented Humidifier Moistens Air Naturally Without Electricity
There are hundreds of electric humidifiers on the market, but they can be costly to buy, expensive to operate, and difficult to keep clean and sanitary. Humidifier, the green humidifier, uses no electricity yet adds soothing moisture to dry air while resisting the growth of molds and bacteria that can be such a problem in ordinary humidifiers. Small and light, humidifier is ideal for rooms up to 200 square feet. It is designed to sit over a forced-air heating register or on any flat surface. Humidifiers 13 molded-in “tunnels” direct warm air upward past a series of polyester-fiber water filters, where the air absorbs moisture from the filters. Instead of emitting water droplets as ordinary humidifiers do, the humidifier’s filters use capillary action to draw water up from the half-gallon reservoir, releasing it into the air as pure vapor.
Unlike water droplets, vapor cannot dampen furniture or leave mineral residue that must be removed from surfaces. And unlike many electric humidifiers, which add moisture whether it is needed or not, humidifier actually self-adjusts, adding less moisture as room air becomes ...
... more humid. Because it uses no electricity, the Humidifier costs hundreds of dollars less to operate than other humidifiers. An antimicrobial additive in the plastic case prevents the growth of molds and bacteria, and the entire device—filters and all—can be easily cleaned in a home dishwasher. If the filters become stained by the chemicals found in some municipal water, they can be easily cleaned with an overnight soak in water with a little vinegar added.
Inventor Haion Won, who holds a degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, has worked in the heating and air conditioning field for over 20 years. Recognizing the many problems with ordinary humidifiers, he created the G-Midifier as a simple, effective, “green” alternative. “Working in HVAC, I learned a lot about water, air, temperature, and humidity,” says Won. “I could see the problems with ordinary humidifiers and knew there was a solution that not only solved those problems, but actually cost less to purchase and operate. With G-Midifier there is no noise, nothing to break down, no over-humidification or stains on furniture, no mold growth, and no cost for electricity. It uses heat that is already being generated in the room, so it doesn’t add to your carbon footprint and is environmentally friendly.
