V3 Lama 4-in-1 Adjustments

While many RC enthusiasts consider radio-controlled (RC) helicopters to be the most difficult aircraft to fly, there are ways to reduce the difficulties you may face as a novice pilot. Making pre-flight adjustments is a necessity if you want to learn how to fly your aircraft like a professional pilot. Learning how to adjust your Lama 4-in-1 will teach you about the mechanical aspects of the aircraft, while providing you a reference point when you need to correct any malfunctions.
1
Adjust the elevator trim -- positioned vertically on the transmitter (to the left of the power button) -- by moving it up or down. Slide it up to increase the elevator, or down to decrease it. Changing the elevator setting will adjust how quickly the helicopter flies forward or backward during level flight.
2
Adjust the rudder trim -- positioned horizontally on the transmitter (to the left of the power button) -- by moving it left or right. Slide it right to reduce a clockwise rotation, or left to correct a counter-clockwise rotation. The rudder trim changes the speed of the tail rotor, which controls the direction of the aircraft's ...
... flight path. A well-adjusted tail rotor allows the aircraft to fly straight when the left joystick is centered.
3
Adjust the aileron trim -- positioned horizontally on the transmitter (to the right of the power button) -- by sliding it left or right. If your helicopter flies to the left or right when trying to hover, slide the aileron trim in the opposite direction to correct this movement. For example, if your aircraft veers left during a balanced hover, slide the aileron trim to the right in small increments until the helicopter tracks straight.
4
Adjust the throttle trim -- positioned vertically on the transmitter (to the right of the power button) -- by sliding it up or down. Reduce you aircraft's throttle trim to correct an idle setting that is too high, or increase it if it's too low. The throttle trim controls the neutral setting, which means how quickly the rotors spin when the throttle joystick is centered.
When shopping for remote control helicopters, it is crucial that you are aware of the various options available and their relevance.
