The city of Kolhapur is located in the south-west part of the state of Maharashtra. It is one of the fastest rising cities in the country and has the highest per capita income in Maharashtra. Known by many names such as `Dakshin Kashi', `door of Konkan' and `the city of arts', it lives up to its reputation of being an imperial as well as a religious province. It is located on the banks of the river Panchganga and has an abundance of ancient Hindu temples, the most popular being the temple of the Hindu Goddess, Mahalakshmi.


HOW TO REACH KOLHAPUR

Kolhapur is connected to major cities in India such as Mumbai, Bangalore etc. via National Highway 4. The city has three major transport bus stands making it easily accessible from most nearby cities. One can also reach by train. The major railway station being Chattrapati Sahu Maharaj Terminus which is connected by trains to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Calcutta and many other major destinations.
