There are sill a few people who do not use credit cards for anything and they may even consider them to be evil. In the past they may have had bad experiences with credit cards and there are several reasons why someone may not like them. If their past experience with credit cards was one that included a large amount of credit card debt, they would not a repeat of this experience.

They may have had parents who strongly taught against credit card use, perhaps after having a bad experience themselves, or they may just see no need for credit cards and the mess that goes with them.

There are some people who are on the other side of the equation, they have a large stack of credit cards that take up a lot of room in their wallet. People who have several credit cards are actually borrowing money at a high interest rate, because they rarely pay off their balances every month.

If you are trying to decide if you should get a credit card, it could all depend on how you handle your finances and your personality. If money could be managed perfectly by everyone, it would be nice, but this is not happening.

Getting a credit card should not be a first priority for you if you have trouble with your budget, because you probably are not ready for credit. If you are on a monthly budget, putting away money into savings every month, paying all your bills on time and buying only what you need, it may be easy for you to handle credit. If you are able to avoid putting yourself into debt, a credit card may be something you could use, but first give some thought as to why you want the credit card in the first place.

Is it because you can't afford the life you want to live and want to borrow money to buy what you want?. If this is the case, you should NOT get a credit card and you need to seriously reconsider your financial situation.

If you just want a card to swipe and then go on when you are shopping, it is just as easy to use a debit card from the bank the same way. When you are asked if it will be debit or credit, and you choose credit, you will just sign and go on your way just as with a regular credit card.

If you are confident you can always pay off your balance in full every month, getting a card for reward points might work out. If you get this type of credit card, it will be worth it only if you pay off the balance each month, otherwise the amount you should receive from the reward points will be canceled out by the added interest charges.
