The Story

Joey Evans is a small time entertainer who wants to have his own nightclub. Joey's true love Linda English is a very simple girl. Joey gets into a relationship with an older, richer, married woman Vera Simpson and pins his hopes on having his own club by luring her into the idea.

Pal Joey made its debut on Broadway in 1940 and had Gene Kelly in the main role then. The show revived in the year 1952 became Broadway's biggest musical and won three Tony awards.
