Why Athletes Should Opt For Invisible Braces
Most athletes are in great physical form, thanks to regular exercise and a healthy diet. However, even the finest of sportsmen may suffer from dental problems. While oral hygiene may solve a few issues like cavities, crooked teeth need to be fixed with the help of orthodontic treatment.
To straighten teeth, as an athlete, you may need to have braces for a while. These provide minimum and constant pressure on the teeth to align in a particular way, which eventually leads to a great teeth line. Besides, braces also protect you from gum infections, decay, bite issues and speaking problems.
There are many types of braces for teens and adults: metal and ceramic ones with brackets on each tooth, lingual braces that are fitted inside the teeth line, and invisible ones. For sportspersonsthe last one would be an ideal choice.
Now imagine having metal brackets on the teeth that keep rubbing on the inside of lips and the tongue. If a ball accidentally hits your face, ...
... or you come in contact with another player’s elbow, or even the ground, these could cause serious damage to the lips and gums.
Unlike metal and ceramic braces, invisible braces are made from specialized plastic and act like mouth guards. They cover the entire teeth line with a transparent coating that is hard yet comfortable. Just like other braces, they apply light pressure on the teeth to align them. However, they are less intrusive.
Another great part about using these is that they look completely natural, and do not adversely affect your good looks. In addition, unlike other braces, you do not need to clean them after every meal. You simply need to continue with your regular oral care.
So, whether you are playing at the school level or are a professional athlete, these braces are the right choice for you to align your teeth.
