Used photocopiers do not begin their journey prefixed with the word ‘used’, they come off the production line in spanking new boxes and shiny packs but as soon as they are out of the factory into the stores, the real world struggles begin.

Customers buy new photocopies off stores and use them in their offices or homes. Not all users are alike, some take great care of their photocopiers and use them for many years, and others are not too gentle in their activities and wearing it off faster than normal. A few minutes of inspection will not only reveal a lot about the condition of the device but also unravel secrets about its past owner.

Once a brand new photocopier is bought, it is installed in homes or offices. The average lifetime of a photocopier is 4 to 5 years after which small problems become very common. Usually these can be set right but very rarely does an owner think of repairing old photocopiers. Instead, they sell it off to dealers who deal in second hand stuff and use the money to buy a new one. However, not all old devices are in saleable condition and most of these and dumped as trash, only a fraction ...
... of these discarded devices are recycled and reused in making new photocopiers.

A small part of those machines that were bought as used photocopiers are repaired and modified, their old parts replaced with new components and structural impairments mended to look and work like new. Used photocopiers do not come with any guarantees or warranties at all, but the reputed companies that specialize in selling used electronics do offer their own maintenance contracts. Yearly maintenance contracts are good enough for small offices and homes but large organizations that have huge printing & photocopying load should invest more and buy new photocopying machines.

Used photocopiers come from both gentle users and thrashers. You would be unlucky if you bought used photocopiers that have seen a rough past because these often develop technical snags that can be cloaked easily by a smart mechanic, but not for too long! As soon as the user begins putting the photocopier to work, technical issues begin that cannot be completely eliminated until the entire unit is replaced.

From the production line to the trash dump, the journey of a photocopying machine is amazing. The used photocopiers you see at homes and offices may have an illustrious past to them, so next time you see one think of all it has been through to serve you!
