Primary Schools And Technology- Enhanced Teaching Methodologies
Parents are always concerned about their child’s future, and that future starts from primary education. However, as time has passed by old teaching methodologies have become obsolete and boring. A new teaching methodology has to be developed to get young pupils interested and excited, that would happen by implementing latest technology, new curriculum, creative content, and new methods. The traditional way of chalk and board is not generating fruitful results in this e-age.
Young individuals are always intrigued with gadgets and gizmos like personal computers, mobile phones etc. Pupils at this age are creative and interested in small nuances of everything. Pupils have different levels of understanding for various subjects; some of them find mathematical sciences boring and difficult to understand. Scholars and educationists all around the world are in pursuit of planning and implementing ways to put new technologies to the test. The main aim is to help young pupils be creative and imaginative, understanding problems at an early age.
There are so many presentations and workshops taking place for ...
... pupils at various ages. Presentations improve a child’s perception on various new topics and get them interested whereas workshops get them to apply their skills in various areas to enhance and improve their cognitive skills. Another way to get them interested is with social interaction amongst young pupils from other schools. With portable tablets, pupils in international British primary schools have an interactive and colorful way of learning. Reading traditional books made from paper are no more encouraged, as E-Books have come into the picture. Eyes do more of the work than ears.
The overall development of a child at a young age plays a significant role to influence cognitive and kinetic skills. New skills and methodologies would generally mean molding individuals to question reality, be creative, and alert towards their goals. Science and technology is said to develop a child’s knowledge and skill that enables a student to think critically and act responsibly. The concept of science and technology opens up minds and makes them observant to understand the basic nature of scientific information.
The use of laptops, personal computers, etc have been extensive in many schools all around the world, but there is another technology that has come into existence, the whiteboard and LCD projector. The whiteboard is use to view a larger image for the whole class to view. This technology is mostly used by teachers to address the whole class. The LCD projector also provides interactive images at lower costs but whiteboards provide clarity and enable teachers to use multiple features.
A more subtle approach to pupils learning in primary schools is no child should be left behind; this can be achieved by keeping a low teacher to student ratio. If there were too many students in a class, it would certainly be difficult for a teacher to concentrate on individual students, and as every student is born with different IQ’s every child is gifted, a teacher has to implement a new methodology instantaneously for each student.
