Hardwoods in general are resilient to damage and each species has a different hardness level, taking a few examples like oak, maple and mahogany- oak is quite heavy, strong and a light colored wood; maple is also strong, hard, and resistant to damage; while mahogany is a bit less strong than the mentioned above, it is reddish brown in color.
