Get The Right Wood To Enhance Your Floor

Property has moved up many notches all over the world and so has construction likewise. In the past, almost all of the structures were built from wood. These structures were very strong and sturdy, but the problem would arise during the maintenance of the structure because of moisture and insect decay. With the emergence of technology, residential and commercial structures are constructed with concrete, stone, and even reinforced fiber or plastic. The only option left for wood to be use as a construction material would be for flooring. Floors in most of the houses are made from tiles which is much cheaper than wood. But there is a major shift with wood coming back into focus.
There are so many types of timber that is used for flooring uses. It depends on the consumers and their choice; it also depends upon the location of the individual who wants to invest in wooden flooring. Not all types of wood are found in every location, if a consumer is interested in buying certain kind of wood it is not necessary that it would be available in that location, so it has to be imported from another location and that would incur ...
... additional costs. Therefore, even if a consumer is interested in a certain kind of wood, he has to look at the expenses and geographic location and may have to opt for alternatives in a few cases.
Flooring is mostly made from hardwoods and previously pine, softwood was used as it was not expensive and was found in abundance. In modern times, most of the floors are made from oak and maple. These are the two regular brands of wood used for the construction of floors as they are found in abundance, they are quite affordable for most of the people around the world and have a very classy look and feel to it. The other brands of wood would be ebony and walnut; these are very expensive and not affordable by all. Wooden flooring should be durable, resistant to water and should look appealing. Softwoods like pine, fir, and spruce can be use as flooring materials but they are damage very easily, this is the reason hardwoods as maple and oak are use on a larger scale.
Technical parameters to look at when buying wood are Durability and Color. The durability of wood is completely dependent on hardness, density, and strength. Hardwoods in general are resilient to damage and each species has a different hardness level, taking a few examples like oak, maple and mahogany- oak is quite heavy, strong and a light colored wood; maple is also strong, hard, and resistant to damage; while mahogany is a bit less strong than the mentioned above, it is reddish brown in color. As described above there are many species of wood to build wooden and this trend is coming back.
